Bass
by Des Brennan
Published in 1974 as one of the “Osprey Anglers” series of inexpensive, informative books. It was available in card covers and in hardback. 48 pages with photos, diagrams and colour plates from illustrations by Peter Lindsell. Subjects covered are biology and habitat, feeding, tackle and tactics for various shore and boat locations, and conservation. Some information on American varieties. This is a reasonable “how to” book, based on the author’s comprehensive experience in the days when there were more bass and many empty beaches. The emphasis is on shore fishing in southern Ireland. Out of print, but the card back version is not too hard to find in secondhand book catalogues or on eBay. The hardback version is quite scarce now.
Thanks Geoff, keep them coming!
